Paddle for Life is a program designed to promote breast cancer awareness, and to show women that there is life after cancer. They train and paddle together weekly, leading to the culminating event of paddling from Maui to and around the island of Lanai, approximately 50 miles. The women participate in functions across Maui to support breast cancer awareness, help raise money for cancer research and to provide assistance to cancer patients. The Paddle For Life program provides opportunities for cancer survivors to engage in positive experiences, embrace the Hawaiian culture, learn how to live a healthy, sustainable lifestyle, develop work ethics to achieve goals, and understand and appreciate basic Hawaiian values. We will be expanding the program to clubs around Maui, and across the state.
